Overview
Established in 2006, Coaches and Mentors of South Africa (COMENSA), a non-profit company NPC 2005/017895/08 and Public Benefits Organisation PBO 930062515, continues to serve as a globally and SAQA recognised, self-regulated, professional body for coaching and mentoring in South Africa.
COMENSA provides a platform for all stakeholders to engage, educate, exchange and evolve in pursuit of best practice.
To achieve this we support the ongoing evolution of coaches and mentors through the promotion of ethical behaviour and professional competence from integrity, accountability, inclusivity and innovation, together with education and networking within our coaching and mentoring community.
We reinforce professionalism through a process of credentialing against the COMENSA Behavioural Standards and continued education tracking through accumulation of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points.
The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) is responsible for the recognition of COMENSA as a professional body and for registering our professional designations for credentialing for the purposes of the NQF Act 67 of 2008.
We believe that coaching and mentoring will have an increasing role to play in empowering future generations, to realise their full potential, in a world of constant change. COMENSA exists to ensure that the highest standard of professional service is provided in South Africa, to meet this need.
COMENSA members are guided by a Code of Ethics and Conduct, an Ethics Toolkit and sign an Ethics Pledge.
